"If we continue abusing the Earth this way, there is no doubt that our civilization will be destroyed. This turnaround takes enlightenment, awakening. The Buddha attained individual awakening. Now we need a collective enlightenment to stop this course of destruction.  Civilization is going to end if we continue to drown in the competition for power, fame, sex and profit."

Thich Nhat Hanh

Hurricane Dorian is still upon us, ringing loudly as a Bell of  Mindfulness, trying to wake us up to the reality that we are not separate from nature; our actions matter.  On September 20, 2019   students and young people around the world are striking, leaving their studies and assembling to  call for attention and action to the climate crisis.  They are seeking our help to protect their future and all of Life on our precious planet.

Let us join them, and our Pittsburgh Interfaith Community, sharing our support and presence as a collective Buddhist community working to reduce the suffering for all Beings.

Please join us for a Peace Walk and Silent Meditation.  More details for the Pittsburgh action can be found here.  For information about the worldwide Strike, see globalclimatestrike.net.

May All Beings Be Safe.  May All Be at Peace.
